12.11.2011: infant care

12.11.2011

as i will be returning back to work after my 16 weeks of maternity, and Jason n I prefer sending bb to infant care than to a nanny; hence we have been sourcing and reading up on the infant care service providers, and associated subsidies...

before coming to a conclusion of sending Kadelyn to a infant care, we did consider the two options:
maid & nanny..
it's nice to ve a maid since maid can double-up as a helper with housechores, and can even prepare dinner...
but our major concern is that our bb is still so small, and there is no one to supervise the maid during the day time hence we dont feel comfortable to entrust our baby to a maid...
perhaps, we will consider the option when our kid gets older...
as to a nanny, it's not cheap too... it's about $700-$800 from 7am-7pm... they mention that they are 1to1, fully attentive to ur bb, but somehow, Jason just dont like the idea...

so infant care is our ultimate choice.
i prefer infant care too, because it seems more structured and organized, and there will be more interactions and learning when bb grows older... more importantly, a cleaner environment..
thou, many did mention that bb is more prone to virus and tends to get sick more often, but it doesnt mean that bb wont fall sick at nanny's place... we will be letting bb to take all the necessary vaccinations before sending her to the infant care...
the major disadvantage that i foresee is that we apply leave and take care of bb if she falls sick since we cant send her to infant care...

we went to 2 infant care centres today.
1st: My First Skool (NTUC)

school fees is about $1270, and after working mom subsidy, its about $600...
i like the environment, and is newly refurbished...

2nd: Sparkletots (PAP_
school fees is about $1170, after subsidy, it's about $550...
environment is not too bad too, thou i prefer my first skool mayb bcoz it's newer..

after considering the 2 schools, guess we will be sending bb to Sparkletots for ease of convenience of travelling.. as sparkletots is nearer to Lot1/Interchange, hence it's more convenient for us to send and pick her up...
and as the infant care hours is from 7am-7pm, hence i may have to discuss with my employer on my working hours.. i'm currently working from 9am-6pm, and it's definitely mad rush for me to be able to reach CCK frm Marina Bay within 1hr...
we shall see..
